Islamic Cairo is central ground where Muslim rulers stamped their presence. Unbeknownst it became the highlight of Islamic attractions. The place is nicknamed ‘City of Thousand Minaret’ because of the mosques and minarets that surround the area is like no other places.

 

History

Based on Mokattam hills which were believed to be sanctimonious place was used as residential area for royals and wealthy, burial grounds for royals, trading centre and so on.

Most of that is preserved and acts as a beacon calling tourist to witness the grandeur and history of Islamic era.
